Lupita Nyong’o Wins 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award

Lupita Nyong’o was honored with the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Supporting Role for her portrayal of Patsy, in Steve McQueen’s “12 Years A Slave.”  The Kenyan actress and director was breathless as she thanked her fellow actors.

“Being recognized by fellow actors is an honor of the highest order.”

Lupita was born in Mexico City and graduated from Yale’s School of Drama in 2012.  “12 Years A Slave” was her American film debut. Her performance was powerful and she is killing in that Gucci gown.
