Judge Kenneth Lester has been been disqualified from presiding over the trial of George Zimmerman, the volunteer night watchman that shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Debra S. Nelson is the new judge assigned to the high profile case. Nelson has a reputation working hard and imposing long prison sentences according to the Orlando Sentinel. See more on Nelson here.
Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara had requested that Lester be replaced saying that the judge made disparaging remarks about his client’s character. It has been proven that Zimmerman and his wife mislead the court about their finances.
