Donald Trump is really making a mockery of himself and Mitt Romney‘s campaign by resurrecting this birth certificate nonsense again.
On Tuesday, Trump appeared on CNBC, where he brought up what has long been a dead issue to most Americans: President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.
“A lot of people are questioning his birth certificate,” Trump said. “They’re questioning the authenticity of his birth certificate.
“I’ve been known as being a very smart guy for a long time. I don’t consider myself birther or not birther but there are some major questions here and the press doesn’t want to cover it,” he said.
Well, Mr. Trump, the issue has been well-documented.
CNN reported that the Birther claims have no merit. Hawaii’s Governor said that Obama was born in the state. The state’s former health director, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, stated that she is certain President Obama was born in Hawaii.
“It is absolutely clear to me that he was born here in Hawaii,” Fukino said.“It should be a none issue, and I think people need to focus on the other bad things going on in our country and in our state and figure out what we’re going to do about those things.”
Even Republicans are backing off of Trump’s baseless Birther foolishness. Republican Congressman Mike Coffman of Colorado apologized for a comment that alluded to Obama’s birth by saying, “Since the issues surrounding President Obama’s birth certificate began during his campaign in 2008, I have rejected the notion that he is anything other than American.”
